January 14, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3951 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2838 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2606 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Dell Inc (NASDAQ:DELL), Hewlett-Packard Co (NYSE:HPQ), RESEARCH IN MOTION (NASDAQ:RIMM), MICROSOFT CORPORATION (NASDAQ:MSFT), Advanced Cell Technology Inc (OTCBB:ACTC), Quantum Corp (NYSE:QTM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DELL $1.450 13.33% 58,296,278 51.08% 55,084,251 48.26% 3,212,027 22,152
  HPQ $0.780 4.83% 19,948,958 32.46% 17,037,842 27.72% 2,911,116 37,322
  RIMM $1.320 9.73% 72,263,986 50.39% 69,950,320 48.78% 2,313,666 17,528
  MSFT $0.140 0.52% 25,480,746 52.97% 22,514,962 46.80% 2,965,784 211,842
  ACTC $0.010 7.14% 6,228,103 58.48% 4,468,428 41.96% 1,759,675 1,759,675
  QTM $0.070 5.43% 2,423,800 75.52% 291,120 9.07% 2,132,680 304,669
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DELL with a Net Buy Volume of 3,212,027 shares and a Friction Factor of 22,152 shares. That means that it takes 22,152 more shares of buying than selling to move DELL higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
