January 8, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3949 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2552 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2778 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Titan Pharmaceuticals Inc (OTC:TTNP), Threshold Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:THLD), TEAM, INC. (NASDAQ:TISI), Biotonix (2010) Inc (AMEX:BTX), Pacific Biosciences of California Inc (NASDAQ:PACB), Parametric Sound Corp (NASDAQ:PAMT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  TTNP $0.230 16.20% 770,229 59.87% 409,236 31.81% 360,993 15,695
  THLD $0.610 14.35% 1,071,564 56.47% 826,026 43.53% 245,538 4,025
  TISI $4.790 12.91% 256,047 40.36% 194,339 30.63% 61,708 129
  BTX $0.430 12.46% 241,903 41.59% 151,851 26.11% 90,052 2,094
  PACB $0.320 17.81% 431,011 56.62% 327,484 43.02% 103,527 3,235
  PAMT $0.980 11.89% 94,407 51.92% 86,595 47.63% 7,812 80
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows TTNP with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.23000 and a Friction Factor of 15,695 shares. That means that it only took 15,695 more shares of buying than selling to move TTNP higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
