December 19, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4042 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2681 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2928 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Blyth Inc (NYSE:BTH), Aberdeen Indonesia Fund Inc (AMEX:IF), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc (NASDAQ:EGLE), Affymax Inc (NASDAQ:AFFY), BioSante Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:BPAX), Oncothyreon Inc (NASDAQ:ONTY). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BTH $-2.160 -11.66% 571,616 33.16% 645,956 37.47% -74,340 -344
  IF $-2.220 -15.72% 33,246 14.71% 46,904 20.76% -13,658 -62
  EGLE $-0.210 -12.66% 314,279 25.80% 511,741 42.01% -197,462 -9,403
  AFFY $-2.790 -12.51% 1,594,987 44.75% 1,867,831 52.41% -272,844 -978
  BPAX $-0.220 -14.41% 798,088 39.39% 1,219,881 60.21% -421,793 -19,172
  ONTY $-2.300 -51.11% 15,561,080 47.56% 16,978,162 51.90% -1,417,082 -6,161
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BTH with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-2.16000 and a Friction Factor of -344 shares. That means that it only took 344 more shares of selling than buying to move BTH lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
