December 4, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4162 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2503 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2920 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Aldila Inc (OTC:ALDA), Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:NFLX), Vitesse Semiconductor Corp (NASDAQ:VTSS), Phosphate Holdings Inc (OTC:PHOS), Sino-Global Shipping America Ltd (NASDAQ:SINO), Biostar Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:BSPM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction ALDA $1.350 54.00% 375,453 58.53% 260,666 40.64% 114,787 850 NFLX $11.150 14.67% 7,238,826 50.03% 6,990,543 48.31% 248,283 223 VTSS $0.430 19.55% 75,858 66.26% 38,621 33.74% 37,237 866 PHOS $0.400 33.33% 128,724 42.38% 75,000 24.69% 53,724 1,343 SINO $0.330 21.15% 402,324 51.70% 374,770 48.16% 27,554 835 BSPM $0.200 20.41% 357,092 53.79% 306,780 46.21% 50,312 2,516Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows ALDA with a dollar gain Tuesday of $1.35000 and a Friction Factor of 850 shares. That means that it only took 850 more shares of buying than selling to move ALDA higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
