Market Maker Surveillance Report. CALI, GNRC, ALXA, OXF, CCCL, UGAZ, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Monday, Nove
November 26, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4093 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2653 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2889 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Monday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. China Auto Logistics Inc (NASDAQ:CALI), Generac Holdings Inc (NYSE:GNRC), Alexza Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:ALXA), Oxford Resource Partners LP (NYSE:OXF), China Ceramics Co Ltd (NASDAQ:CCCL), (NYSE:UGAZ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction CALI $-0.410 -9.19% 91,656 39.71% 138,994 60.21% -47,338 -1,155 GNRC $-3.590 -10.17% 1,103,679 32.88% 1,134,905 33.81% -31,226 -87 ALXA $-0.470 -8.67% 435,953 43.61% 556,019 55.62% -120,066 -2,555 OXF $-0.580 -9.31% 87,021 31.40% 103,997 37.52% -16,976 -293 CCCL $-0.260 -10.40% 117,804 37.11% 199,643 62.89% -81,839 -3,148 UGAZ $-4.440 -10.93% 94,948 34.96% 103,179 37.99% -8,231 -19Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows CALI with a dollar loss Monday of $-0.41000 and a Friction Factor of -1,155 shares. That means that it only took 1,155 more shares of selling than buying to move CALI lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
