November 16, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4195 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2747 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2514 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Friday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Grupo Casa Saba SA de CV (NYSE:SAB), China Auto Logistics Inc (NASDAQ:CALI), COBIZ FINANCIAL INCORPORATED (NASDAQ:COBZ), Recon Technology Ltd (NASDAQ:RCON), SOLOMON GOLD CORP (NASDAQ:SGOC), China New Borun Corp (NYSE:BORN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SAB $-4.850 -59.15% 36,622 17.51% 65,118 31.13% -28,496 -59
  CALI $-1.210 -21.38% 724,131 47.06% 782,230 50.84% -58,099 -480
  COBZ $-0.970 -14.92% 31,354 49.21% 32,361 50.79% -1,007 -10
  RCON $-0.810 -29.35% 1,029,827 46.06% 1,205,696 53.92% -175,869 -2,171
  SGOC $-0.390 -21.12% 230,551 43.65% 296,588 56.16% -66,037 -1,693
  BORN $-0.500 -22.42% 59,291 28.74% 82,511 39.99% -23,220 -464
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SAB with a dollar loss Friday of $-4.85000 and a Friction Factor of -59 shares. That means that it only took 59 more shares of selling than buying to move SAB lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
