November 16, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4195 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2747 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2514 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Capital City Bank Group Inc (NASDAQ:CCBG), AMERISTAR CASINOS, INC. (NASDAQ:ASCA), Prana Biotechnology Ltd (NASDAQ:PRAN), Swisher Hygiene Inc (NASDAQ:SWSH), General Steel Holdings Inc (NYSE:GSI), NF Energy Saving Corp (NASDAQ:NFEC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CCBG $1.560 16.85% 104,233 52.19% 93,774 46.96% 10,459 67
  ASCA $2.670 15.85% 1,819,241 50.06% 1,779,741 48.97% 39,500 148
  PRAN $0.330 16.92% 178,129 69.86% 76,841 30.14% 101,288 3,069
  SWSH $0.280 24.35% 2,614,228 50.62% 2,547,734 49.33% 66,494 2,375
  GSI $0.200 21.98% 43,888 34.23% 39,183 30.56% 4,705 235
  NFEC $0.160 16.84% 480,633 51.04% 459,178 48.77% 21,455 1,341
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CCBG with a dollar gain Friday of $1.56000 and a Friction Factor of 67 shares. That means that it only took 67 more shares of buying than selling to move CCBG higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
