November 15, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4113 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1767 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3699 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. China Auto Logistics Inc (NASDAQ:CALI), Max & Erma's Restaurant (NASDAQ:MAXE), Bluegreen Corp (NYSE:BXG), MS NTL OILWELL SP (NYSE:NOW), SOLOMON GOLD CORP (NASDAQ:SGOC), Synergy Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:SGYP). Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction CALI $1.340 31.60% 2,270,784 52.15% 2,038,195 46.81% 232,589 1,736 MAXE $0.110 11.96% 229,955 62.23% 129,143 34.95% 100,812 9,165 BXG $3.200 55.56% 369,423 33.17% 311,423 27.96% 58,000 181 NOW $3.070 10.69% 2,089,473 29.66% 1,966,105 27.91% 123,368 402 SGOC $0.820 79.71% 576,127 60.49% 370,952 38.95% 205,175 2,502 SGYP $0.460 12.27% 411,926 56.08% 318,545 43.37% 93,381 2,030Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows CALI with a dollar gain Thursday of $1.34000 and a Friction Factor of 1,736 shares. That means that it only took 1,736 more shares of buying than selling to move CALI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
