November 5, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4050 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2710 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2626 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Monday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Pharmacyclics Inc (NASDAQ:PCYC), School Specialty Inc (NASDAQ:SCHS), Save The World Air Inc (OTCBB:ZERO), INTL TOWER HILL MINES LTD (AMEX:THM), Skullcandy Inc (NASDAQ:SKUL), (NYSE:FU). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PCYC $-6.980 -12.17% 2,365,961 48.16% 2,451,319 49.90% -85,358 -122
  SCHS $-0.180 -10.34% 84,216 49.42% 86,104 50.52% -1,888 -105
  ZERO $-0.120 -8.63% 166,793 48.05% 170,804 49.21% -4,011 -334
  THM $-0.180 -7.63% 93,941 22.51% 120,835 28.95% -26,894 -1,494
  SKUL $-0.910 -9.05% 648,377 46.60% 716,780 51.52% -68,403 -752
  FU $-0.360 -10.56% 28,963 23.71% 45,901 37.58% -16,938 -471
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PCYC with a dollar loss Monday of $-6.98000 and a Friction Factor of -122 shares. That means that it only took 122 more shares of selling than buying to move PCYC lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
