November 1, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3756 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3601 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1736 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. LoJack Corp (NASDAQ:LOJN), Furniture Brands International Inc (NYSE:FBN), Pain Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:PTIE), ATLAS AIR WORLDWIDE HOLDINGS, INC. (NASDAQ:AAWW), LiveDeal Inc (NASDAQ:LIVE), CENTAMIN EGYPT LTD (OTC:CELTF). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .
Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction LOJN $-0.250 -11.11% 95,244 46.15% 98,614 47.79% -3,370 -135 FBN $-0.250 -16.45% 315,129 35.59% 342,385 38.67% -27,256 -1,090 PTIE $-1.650 -35.33% 1,336,745 44.59% 1,656,562 55.26% -319,817 -1,938 AAWW $-9.440 -17.17% 795,117 45.35% 947,392 54.04% -152,275 -161 LIVE $-0.510 -14.13% 26,345 46.98% 29,735 53.02% -3,390 -66 CELTF $-0.370 -26.06% 54,451 41.10% 73,120 55.20% -18,669 -505Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows LOJN with a dollar loss Thursday of $-0.25000 and a Friction Factor of -135 shares. That means that it only took 135 more shares of selling than buying to move LOJN lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
