October 31, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4124 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2924 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2763 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Annaly Capital Management Inc (NYSE:NLY), Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSE:XLY), BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), EMC Corp (NYSE:EMC), JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM), Clearwire Corp (NASDAQ:CLWR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  NLY $0.280 1.77% 5,635,392 44.57% 3,672,071 29.04% 1,963,321 70,119
  XLY $0.120 0.26% 3,721,509 40.72% 1,947,913 21.31% 1,773,596 147,800
  BAC $0.190 2.08% 37,042,461 39.59% 30,398,931 32.49% 6,643,530 349,659
  EMC $0.510 2.13% 15,254,942 47.03% 7,021,802 21.65% 8,233,140 161,434
  JPM $0.430 1.04% 6,700,899 35.39% 4,084,088 21.57% 2,616,811 60,856
  CLWR $0.100 5.26% 8,635,241 58.30% 6,157,060 41.57% 2,478,181 247,818
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NLY with a Net Buy Volume of 1,963,321 shares and a Friction Factor of 70,119 shares. That means that it takes 70,119 more shares of buying than selling to move NLY higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
