October 31, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4124 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2924 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2763 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Wednesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), INTEL CORPORATION (NASDAQ:INTC), Hewlett-Packard Co (NYSE:HPQ), Western Union Co (NYSE:WU), Vringo Inc (AMEX:VRNG), Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  GE $-0.060 -0.28% 10,113,473 26.25% 14,987,369 38.90% -4,873,896 -812,316
  INTC $-0.330 -1.48% 16,465,450 41.12% 23,259,633 58.09% -6,794,183 -205,884
  HPQ $-0.150 -1.03% 4,232,586 21.84% 7,585,566 39.13% -3,352,980 -223,532
  WU $-5.160 -28.78% 19,844,981 31.68% 22,208,576 35.45% -2,363,595 -4,581
  VRNG $-1.430 -35.75% 10,679,679 34.09% 12,805,873 40.87% -2,126,194 -14,868
  FB $-0.860 -3.93% 45,188,412 45.54% 51,873,734 52.28% -6,685,322 -77,736
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GE down $-0.06000 with a Friction Factor of -812,316 and a Net Volume of -4,873,896. That means that it takes 812,316 more shares of selling than buying to drop GE by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
