October 24, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4115 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2246 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2797 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:NFLX), Corning Inc (NYSE:GLW), COMPUWARE CORPORATION (NASDAQ:CPWR), LIBERTY INTERACTIVE CORPORATION (NASDAQ:LINTA), Clearwire Corp (NASDAQ:CLWR), Tucows Inc (NYSE:TC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  NFLX $-8.470 -12.42% 7,661,296 53.64% 6,424,797 44.98% 1,236,499 Abnormal
  GLW $-1.260 -9.40% 15,167,778 33.67% 13,992,047 31.06% 1,175,731 Abnormal
  CPWR $-1.190 -12.54% 19,741,812 70.74% 8,066,376 28.91% 11,675,436 Abnormal
  LINTA $-0.170 -0.84% 4,006,015 59.62% 2,710,710 40.34% 1,295,305 Abnormal
  CLWR $-0.050 -2.62% 14,786,641 59.01% 10,272,203 40.99% 4,514,438 Abnormal
  TC $-0.060 -2.21% 2,350,600 59.01% 928,160 23.30% 1,422,440 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Wednesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NFLX with 1,236,499 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-8.47000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
