October 9, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3871 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1502 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4134 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Otelco Inc (NASDAQ:OTT), BSD Medical Corp (NASDAQ:BSDM), James River Coal Co (NASDAQ:JRCC), AspenBio Pharma Inc (NASDAQ:APPY), PACIFIC BOOKER MINERALS INC (AMEX:PBM), Superior Plus Corp (NYSE:SPB). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  OTT $0.500 21.79% 687,144 52.02% 630,768 47.75% 56,376 1,128
  BSDM $0.870 73.73% 2,186,899 52.16% 1,980,891 47.25% 206,008 2,368
  JRCC $0.310 10.13% 1,364,814 54.83% 1,123,920 45.15% 240,894 7,771
  APPY $0.340 16.67% 402,645 54.06% 342,101 45.94% 60,544 1,781
  PBM $1.000 32.26% 112,909 35.00% 90,689 28.12% 22,220 222
  SPB $4.880 11.86% 657,279 38.12% 612,943 35.55% 44,336 91
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows OTT with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.50000 and a Friction Factor of 1,128 shares. That means that it only took 1,128 more shares of buying than selling to move OTT higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
