October 3, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4036 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2396 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2960 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), Saks Inc (NYSE:SKS), General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI), Rite Aid Corp (NYSE:RAD), Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (NYSE:TSM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction BAC $0.190 2.13% 43,279,777 38.05% 36,189,114 31.82% 7,090,663 373,193 SKS $0.030 0.29% 2,598,002 85.25% 252,991 8.30% 2,345,011 781,670 GE $0.110 0.48% 11,281,622 35.27% 9,553,216 29.87% 1,728,406 157,128 SIRI $0.110 4.20% 56,857,773 61.69% 34,438,358 37.37% 22,419,415 2,038,129 RAD $0.010 0.87% 4,409,796 51.84% 1,966,297 23.11% 2,443,499 2,443,499 TSM $0.050 0.31% 5,553,884 42.48% 3,161,842 24.18% 2,392,042 478,408Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows BAC with a Net Buy Volume of 7,090,663 shares and a Friction Factor of 373,193 shares. That means that it takes 373,193 more shares of buying than selling to move BAC higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
