September 21, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4058 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3311 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2221 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Sunlink Health Systems Inc (AMEX:SSY), Bona Film Group Ltd (NASDAQ:BONA), China Sunergy Co Ltd (NASDAQ:CSUN), Cleveland BioLabs Inc (NASDAQ:CBLI), Halozyme Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:HALO), BioSante Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:BPAX). Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction SSY $0.230 19.01% 68,894 32.23% 63,298 29.61% 5,596 243 BONA $0.850 17.00% 73,489 71.20% 29,623 28.70% 43,866 516 CSUN $0.180 16.67% 93,739 63.16% 54,675 36.84% 39,064 2,170 CBLI $0.400 15.94% 358,119 59.13% 247,326 40.84% 110,793 2,770 HALO $1.550 24.18% 2,396,651 50.39% 2,305,523 48.48% 91,128 588 BPAX $0.270 16.07% 1,224,054 57.60% 892,229 41.98% 331,825 12,290Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows SSY with a dollar gain Friday of $0.23000 and a Friction Factor of 243 shares. That means that it only took 243 more shares of buying than selling to move SSY higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
