September 18, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4001 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2464 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3051 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Pfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE), BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), Stratasys Inc (NASDAQ:SSYS), MICROSOFT CORPORATION (NASDAQ:MSFT), A123 Systems Inc (NASDAQ:AONE), (OTC:WRAP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PFE $-0.010 -0.03% 5,992,146 25.00% 9,588,408 40.00% -3,596,262 -3,596,262
  BAC $-0.070 -0.75% 52,323,459 35.02% 61,521,544 41.18% -9,198,085 -1,314,012
  SSYS $-4.940 -7.76% 882,038 18.91% 3,768,660 80.79% -2,886,622 -5,843
  MSFT $-0.060 -0.19% 12,932,740 38.21% 17,632,014 52.09% -4,699,274 -783,212
  AONE $-0.030 -10.83% 8,297,962 44.33% 10,422,136 55.67% -2,124,174 -708,058
  WRAP $-0.012 -32.43% 1,094,861 24.06% 3,455,788 75.94% -2,360,927 -1,967,439
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PFE down $-0.01000 with a Friction Factor of -3,596,262 and a Net Volume of -3,596,262. That means that it takes 3,596,262 more shares of selling than buying to drop PFE by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
