Market Maker Surveillance Report. HUSA, TRR, SGOC, HK, AESYY, CCCL, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Wednesday, Se
September 12, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4031 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3156 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2378 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Houston American Energy Corp (AMEX:HUSA), TRC Companies Inc (NYSE:TRR), SOLOMON GOLD CORP (NASDAQ:SGOC), Huakan International Mining (NASDAQ:HK), AES Tiete SA (OTC:AESYY), China Ceramics Co Ltd (NASDAQ:CCCL). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction HUSA $-0.140 -9.86% 335,199 28.29% 425,310 35.89% -90,111 -6,437 TRR $-0.980 -12.73% 38,171 34.99% 43,274 39.67% -5,103 -52 SGOC $-0.200 -12.12% 44,677 44.27% 56,249 55.73% -11,572 -579 HK $-0.940 -10.99% 2,979,561 33.83% 3,088,062 35.06% -108,501 -1,154 AESYY $-2.540 -17.99% 79,189 10.65% 205,174 27.60% -125,985 -496 CCCL $-0.550 -22.09% 107,392 47.92% 116,738 52.08% -9,346 -170Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows HUSA with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-0.14000 and a Friction Factor of -6,437 shares. That means that it only took 6,437 more shares of selling than buying to move HUSA lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
