Market Maker Surveillance Report. REDF, HUSA, CBK, GSI, LDHL, UGAZ, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Monday, Sept
September 10, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4029 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2386 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3070 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Rediff Com India Ltd (NASDAQ:REDF), Houston American Energy Corp (AMEX:HUSA), Christopher & Banks Corp (NYSE:CBK), General Steel Holdings Inc (NYSE:GSI), LD HOLDINGS INC (OTC:LDHL), (NYSE:UGAZ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction REDF $0.640 21.40% 211,329 52.86% 188,486 47.14% 22,843 357 HUSA $0.170 18.28% 119,108 29.89% 75,323 18.90% 43,785 2,576 CBK $0.470 15.02% 337,980 44.21% 265,783 34.76% 72,197 1,536 GSI $0.270 26.21% 150,397 26.18% 146,336 25.47% 4,061 150 LDHL $0.410 43.62% 208,687 37.02% 96,023 17.04% 112,664 2,748 UGAZ $3.190 14.91% 143,186 37.62% 132,158 34.72% 11,028 35Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows REDF with a dollar gain Monday of $0.64000 and a Friction Factor of 357 shares. That means that it only took 357 more shares of buying than selling to move REDF higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
