September 6, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3771 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4310 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1563 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Thursday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Nokia Oyj (NYSE:NOK), BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI), INTEL CORPORATION (NASDAQ:INTC), GenOn Energy Inc (NYSE:GEN), Powershares Qqq Trust Series 1 (NASDAQ:QQQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  NOK $0.060 2.52% 54,304,463 42.94% 43,619,282 34.49% 10,685,181 1,780,864
  BAC $0.400 5.03% 68,016,826 34.29% 62,208,238 31.36% 5,808,588 145,215
  SIRI $0.030 1.39% 23,099,498 71.44% 9,167,668 28.35% 13,931,830 4,643,943
  INTC $0.700 2.87% 22,040,670 55.84% 17,224,258 43.64% 4,816,412 68,806
  GEN $0.120 4.74% 9,527,278 37.47% 5,002,161 19.68% 4,525,117 377,093
  QQQ $1.480 2.18% 22,692,388 53.02% 16,293,818 38.07% 6,398,570 43,234
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NOK with a Net Buy Volume of 10,685,181 shares and a Friction Factor of 1,780,864 shares. That means that it takes 1,780,864 more shares of buying than selling to move NOK higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Thursday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
