September 4, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4102 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2870 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2602 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Pure Bioscience (NASDAQ:PURE), Life Partners Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:LPHI), Hauppauge Digital Inc (NASDAQ:HAUP), Zion Oil and Gas Inc (NASDAQ:ZN), XERO MOBILE INC (OTC:XRMB), Digital Domain Media Group Inc (NYSE:DDMG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PURE $-0.470 -16.73% 38,022 35.53% 69,005 64.47% -30,983 -659
  LPHI $-0.150 -9.43% 77,155 37.22% 130,119 62.78% -52,964 -3,531
  HAUP $-0.240 -19.20% 51,367 41.12% 73,056 58.48% -21,689 -904
  ZN $-0.310 -10.84% 221,416 43.39% 287,716 56.38% -66,300 -2,139
  XRMB $-0.180 -15.13% 35,315 31.72% 46,800 42.04% -11,485 -638
  DDMG $-0.660 -31.88% 816,660 33.52% 853,333 35.03% -36,673 -556
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PURE with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-0.47000 and a Friction Factor of -659 shares. That means that it only took 659 more shares of selling than buying to move PURE lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
