September 4, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4102 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2870 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2602 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Boston Scientific Corp (NYSE:BSX), Sprint Nextel Corp (NYSE:S), LYNAS CORPORATION (OTC:LYSCF), LyondellBasell Industries NV (NYSE:LYB), (OTC:PRTN), Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BSX $-0.010 -0.19% 2,885,813 24.83% 5,319,972 45.77% -2,434,159 -2,434,159
  S $-0.050 -1.03% 9,171,960 31.87% 11,512,671 40.00% -2,340,711 -468,142
  LYSCF $-0.069 -10.30% 365,828 17.13% 1,769,230 82.87% -1,403,402 -203,392
  LYB $-1.960 -4.01% 9,174,996 26.37% 18,630,000 53.55% -9,455,004 -48,240
  PRTN $-0.168 -40.95% 11,970,784 42.26% 16,353,280 57.74% -4,382,496 -261,018
  FB $-0.230 -1.26% 21,412,754 47.44% 23,573,930 52.23% -2,161,176 -93,964
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BSX down $-0.01000 with a Friction Factor of -2,434,159 and a Net Volume of -2,434,159. That means that it takes 2,434,159 more shares of selling than buying to drop BSX by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
