August 29, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3980 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2726 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2515 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (NYSE:BPT), FAIRBORNE ENERGY LTD (OTC:FAIRF), MART RESOURCES INC (OTC:MAUXF), ENERGOLD DRILLING CORP (OTC:EGDFF), Gravity Co Ltd (NASDAQ:GRVY), Dycom Industries Inc (NYSE:DY). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BPT $-16.160 -17.29% 890,408 30.85% 966,638 33.49% -76,230 -47
  FAIRF $-0.251 -15.96% 41,800 27.50% 75,200 49.47% -33,400 -1,333
  MAUXF $-0.250 -14.37% 335,906 30.44% 448,143 40.62% -112,237 -4,489
  EGDFF $-0.712 -18.19% 55,125 17.25% 64,900 20.31% -9,775 -137
  GRVY $-0.250 -14.62% 144,389 37.71% 238,460 62.29% -94,071 -3,763
  DY $-3.620 -19.17% 1,526,306 33.53% 1,572,314 34.54% -46,008 -127
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BPT with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-16.16000 and a Friction Factor of -47 shares. That means that it only took 47 more shares of selling than buying to move BPT lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
