Market Maker Surveillance Report. ANGI, JOSB, GENE, NYNY, CPSL, SEE, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Wednesday,
August 29, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3980 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2726 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2515 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Angie's List Inc (NASDAQ:ANGI), Jos A Bank Clothiers Inc (NASDAQ:JOSB), Genetic Technologies Ltd (NASDAQ:GENE), Empire Resorts Inc (NASDAQ:NYNY), China Precision Steel Inc (NASDAQ:CPSL), Sealed Air Corp (NYSE:SEE). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction ANGI $1.190 13.18% 716,095 54.62% 579,780 44.22% 136,315 1,146 JOSB $5.810 13.96% 2,197,101 50.84% 2,095,523 48.49% 101,578 175 GENE $0.810 25.96% 1,537,031 53.84% 1,312,261 45.97% 224,770 2,775 NYNY $0.300 18.26% 76,971 56.36% 59,592 43.64% 17,379 579 CPSL $1.000 44.64% 35,381 53.17% 31,157 46.83% 4,224 42 SEE $1.870 14.24% 3,316,889 33.82% 3,020,004 30.79% 296,885 1,588Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows ANGI with a dollar gain Wednesday of $1.19000 and a Friction Factor of 1,146 shares. That means that it only took 1,146 more shares of buying than selling to move ANGI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
