August 27, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4043 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2486 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2816 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Hudson City Bancorp Inc (NASDAQ:HCBK), Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc (NYSE:DTG), Arena Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:ARNA), Eli Lilly and Co (NYSE:LLY), Sarissa Resources Inc (OTC:SRSR), Powershares Qqq Trust Series 1 (NASDAQ:QQQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  HCBK $0.990 15.37% 43,124,524 50.88% 41,703,299 49.21% 1,421,225 14,356
  DTG $6.070 7.49% 3,936,865 41.02% 2,841,851 29.61% 1,095,014 1,804
  ARNA $0.700 8.10% 11,596,424 52.44% 10,502,771 47.49% 1,093,653 15,624
  LLY $0.730 1.66% 5,230,117 34.72% 4,324,515 28.71% 905,602 12,406
  SRSR $0.011 28.21% 5,540,315 76.06% 1,743,758 23.94% 3,796,557 3,451,415
  QQQ $0.080 0.12% 11,221,268 54.65% 9,106,383 44.35% 2,114,885 264,361
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows HCBK with a Net Buy Volume of 1,421,225 shares and a Friction Factor of 14,356 shares. That means that it takes 14,356 more shares of buying than selling to move HCBK higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
