August 24, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4011 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3065 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2197 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Ampio Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:AMPE), Medgenics Inc (OTCBB:MDGN), Quicklogic Corp (NASDAQ:QUIK), DRAGONWAVE INC (NASDAQ:DRWI), Global Technologies Group Inc (OTC:GTGP), Ubiquiti Networks Inc (NASDAQ:UBNT). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  AMPE $0.650 23.21% 807,399 60.31% 509,040 38.02% 298,359 4,590
  MDGN $2.110 19.46% 72,913 48.64% 40,168 26.80% 32,745 155
  QUIK $0.340 16.27% 220,882 65.06% 118,605 34.94% 102,277 3,008
  DRWI $0.440 19.64% 305,584 61.06% 194,513 38.86% 111,071 2,524
  GTGP $0.251 27.92% 152,235 43.05% 85,835 24.27% 66,400 2,645
  UBNT $1.570 17.46% 989,935 54.96% 752,727 41.79% 237,208 1,511
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AMPE with a dollar gain Friday of $0.65000 and a Friction Factor of 4,590 shares. That means that it only took 4,590 more shares of buying than selling to move AMPE higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
