Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction BRLI $-2.470 -8.35% 190,255 48.29% 202,062 51.29% -11,807 -48 HWAY $-0.990 -8.86% 139,829 46.31% 143,507 47.53% -3,678 -37 QTM $-0.140 -8.09% 308,832 27.86% 465,697 42.01% -156,865 -11,205 ZN $-0.230 -10.50% 65,423 38.17% 103,061 60.13% -37,638 -1,636 HCII $-1.570 -7.60% 323,962 47.04% 361,158 52.44% -37,196 -237 CELGZ $-0.280 -10.68% 66,105 43.67% 78,263 51.70% -12,158 -434Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows BRLI with a dollar loss Thursday of $-2.47000 and a Friction Factor of -48 shares. That means that it only took 48 more shares of selling than buying to move BRLI lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
