August 15, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3956 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3226 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2095 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Multiband Corp (NASDAQ:MBND), Ascent Solar Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:ASTI), Sharp Corp (OTC:SHCAY), MAGNEGAS CORP (OTCBB:MNGA), Cytomedix Inc (OTC:CMXI), Crumbs Bake Shop Inc (NASDAQ:CRMB). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MBND $-0.460 -21.50% 74,544 35.48% 135,547 64.52% -61,003 -1,326
  ASTI $-0.210 -11.73% 2,123,070 46.39% 2,450,470 53.54% -327,400 -15,590
  SHCAY $-0.316 -13.17% 34,081 25.84% 104,898 79.53% -70,817 -2,241
  MNGA $-0.500 -13.33% 32,005 48.57% 33,893 51.43% -1,888 -38
  CMXI $-0.340 -22.97% 164,859 32.15% 254,286 49.59% -89,427 -2,630
  CRMB $-0.350 -11.63% 88,295 49.17% 88,360 49.21% -65 -2
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MBND with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-0.46000 and a Friction Factor of -1,326 shares. That means that it only took 1,326 more shares of selling than buying to move MBND lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
