August 1, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3681 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1936 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3550 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Cadiz Inc (NASDAQ:CDZI), Merge Healthcare Inc (NASDAQ:MRGE), BSD Medical Corp (NASDAQ:BSDM), Hauppauge Digital Inc (NASDAQ:HAUP), Catalyst Pharmaceutical Partners Inc (NASDAQ:CPRX), Wizzard Software Corp (AMEX:WZE). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CDZI $2.840 40.00% 654,636 53.87% 544,309 44.79% 110,327 388
  MRGE $0.390 13.15% 1,282,386 49.74% 1,272,321 49.34% 10,065 258
  BSDM $0.150 12.71% 54,705 64.21% 27,240 31.97% 27,465 1,831
  HAUP $0.180 15.93% 335,863 50.35% 329,048 49.32% 6,815 379
  CPRX $0.180 14.38% 1,177,869 58.54% 834,107 41.46% 343,762 19,098
  WZE $0.750 21.43% 174,405 36.22% 102,937 21.38% 71,468 953
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CDZI with a dollar gain Wednesday of $2.84000 and a Friction Factor of 388 shares. That means that it only took 388 more shares of buying than selling to move CDZI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
