July 24, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3685 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1465 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4109 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), Cisco Systems Inc (NASDAQ:CSCO), CenturyLink Inc (NYSE:CTL), MEMC Electronic Materials Inc (NYSE:WFR), Ford Motor Co (NYSE:F), Powershares Qqq Trust Series 1 (NASDAQ:QQQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BAC $-0.050 -0.71% 40,671,079 30.10% 45,097,818 33.38% -4,426,739 -885,348
  CSCO $-0.920 -5.72% 46,622,430 46.53% 53,323,641 53.22% -6,701,211 -72,839
  CTL $-0.400 -0.98% 1,179,324 14.83% 5,380,698 67.66% -4,201,374 -105,034
  WFR $-0.060 -3.30% 943,643 15.02% 4,279,207 68.09% -3,335,564 -555,927
  F $-0.130 -1.42% 15,681,233 29.80% 19,451,528 36.97% -3,770,295 -290,023
  QQQ $-0.740 -1.17% 20,843,855 39.40% 25,210,206 47.65% -4,366,351 -59,005
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BAC down $-0.05000 with a Friction Factor of -885,348 and a Net Volume of -4,426,739. That means that it takes 885,348 more shares of selling than buying to drop BAC by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
