July 20, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3731 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1720 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3740 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Friday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. WGL Holdings Inc (NYSE:WGL), Cemex SAB de CV (NYSE:CX), United Microelectronics Corp (NYSE:UMC), Chevron Corp (NYSE:CVX), Twoco Petroleums Ltd (NYSE:TWO), TITAN ENERGY WORLDWIDE INC (OTC:TEWI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  WGL $0.090 0.22% 1,775,465 67.96% 381,244 14.59% 1,394,221 154,913
  CX $0.330 4.87% 12,188,911 34.46% 9,753,401 27.57% 2,435,510 73,803
  UMC $0.060 2.86% 2,591,220 51.36% 1,061,657 21.04% 1,529,563 254,927
  CVX $0.530 0.49% 3,257,212 35.50% 1,552,362 16.92% 1,704,850 32,167
  TWO $0.380 3.49% 4,893,075 41.85% 2,854,884 24.42% 2,038,191 53,637
  TEWI $0.013 162.50% 11,341,490 53.62% 9,686,599 45.79% 1,654,891 1,272,993
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows WGL with a Net Buy Volume of 1,394,221 shares and a Friction Factor of 154,913 shares. That means that it takes 154,913 more shares of buying than selling to move WGL higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Friday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
