July 11, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3839 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2221 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2979 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Rit Technologies Ltd (NASDAQ:RITT), DIANE MINES LTD (OTC:DIMI), Ocean Power Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:OPTT), Carver Bancorp Inc (NASDAQ:CARV), Complete Genomics Inc (NASDAQ:GNOM), GREEN TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS I (OTC:GTSO). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  RITT $2.200 69.09% 678,015 49.55% 675,518 49.36% 2,497 11
  DIMI $0.240 21.05% 156,011 40.07% 91,867 23.59% 64,144 2,673
  OPTT $1.440 69.74% 1,573,103 54.45% 1,289,742 44.64% 283,361 1,968
  CARV $2.550 46.79% 61,985 49.27% 61,334 48.75% 651 3
  GNOM $0.880 43.14% 5,090,944 54.56% 4,230,597 45.34% 860,347 9,777
  GTSO $0.339 26.50% 64,122 33.78% 52,318 27.56% 11,804 348
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows RITT with a dollar gain Wednesday of $2.20000 and a Friction Factor of 11 shares. That means that it only took 11 more shares of buying than selling to move RITT higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
