July 5, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4525 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2680 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2688 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Microvision Inc (NASDAQ:MVIS), MEDGENICS INC - UNRESTRICTED (OTCBB:MDGN), Entremed Inc (NASDAQ:ENMD), FIRSTBANK CORP/ALMA MICH (NASDAQ:FBMI), APCO OIL AND GAS INTL INC (NASDAQ:APAGF), CYTOMEDIX INC (OTC:CMXI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MVIS $0.450 28.30% 1,080,757 53.68% 932,116 46.30% 148,641 3,303
  MDGN $4.510 43.01% 176,162 37.04% 143,066 30.08% 33,096 73
  ENMD $0.480 24.00% 92,562 62.72% 53,327 36.13% 39,235 817
  FBMI $1.840 19.07% 41,869 60.45% 27,388 39.55% 14,481 79
  APAGF $2.920 14.94% 64,003 57.05% 47,488 42.33% 16,515 57
  CMXI $0.230 19.49% 119,107 38.02% 100,646 32.12% 18,461 803
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MVIS with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.45000 and a Friction Factor of 3,303 shares. That means that it only took 3,303 more shares of buying than selling to move MVIS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
