Market Maker Surveillance Report. NKE, CAMP, IMSC, SQQQ, PGRX, DSLV, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Friday, June
June 29, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3775 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4758 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1245 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Friday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Nike Inc (NYSE:NKE), CALAMP CORP (NASDAQ:CAMP), IMPLANT SCIENCES CORP (OTC:IMSC), ProShares Trust UltraPro Short QQQ ETF (NASDAQ:SQQQ), (OTCBB:PGRX), (NYSE:DSLV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction NKE $-9.010 -9.29% 6,251,871 29.07% 6,752,849 31.40% -500,978 -556 CAMP $-1.150 -13.69% 748,272 48.26% 795,317 51.29% -47,045 -409 IMSC $-0.320 -18.60% 339,751 28.41% 465,750 38.95% -125,999 -3,937 SQQQ $-4.830 -9.34% 793,927 43.57% 1,014,710 55.69% -220,783 -457 PGRX $-1.500 -37.04% 47,642 38.10% 52,308 41.83% -4,666 -31 DSLV $-6.480 -12.93% 27,698 19.70% 37,426 26.62% -9,728 -15Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows NKE with a dollar loss Friday of $-9.01000 and a Friction Factor of -556 shares. That means that it only took 556 more shares of selling than buying to move NKE lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
