June 29, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3775 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4758 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1245 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. KEWAUNEE SCIENTIFIC CP (NASDAQ:KEQU), CONSTELLATION BRANDS INC-A (NYSE:STZ), WHITE MOUNTAIN TITANIUM CORP (OTCBB:WMTM), SMITH & WESSON HOLDING CORPORATION (NASDAQ:SWHC), TREE.COM INC (NASDAQ:TREE), ZST DIGITAL NETWORKS INC (OTC:ZSTN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  KEQU $1.680 17.23% 80,909 57.49% 56,773 40.34% 24,136 144
  STZ $5.300 24.36% 5,015,630 34.77% 4,507,825 31.25% 507,805 958
  WMTM $0.240 19.35% 223,137 61.34% 55,452 15.24% 167,685 6,987
  SWHC $1.170 16.98% 4,329,852 50.45% 4,228,875 49.27% 100,977 863
  TREE $1.680 17.21% 75,110 62.65% 44,371 37.01% 30,739 183
  ZSTN $0.560 22.95% 173,193 30.90% 60,650 10.82% 112,543 2,010
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows KEQU with a dollar gain Friday of $1.68000 and a Friction Factor of 144 shares. That means that it only took 144 more shares of buying than selling to move KEQU higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
