June 28, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3912 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2377 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3019 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. BioFuel Energy Corp (NASDAQ:BIOF), AUGME TECHNOLOGIES INC (OTC:AUGT), A123 SYSTEMS, INCORPORATION (NASDAQ:AONE), SYNTA PHARMACEUTICALS CORP (NASDAQ:SNTA), KINGOLD JEWELRY INC (NASDAQ:KGJI), GEVO INC (NASDAQ:GEVO). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BIOF $-0.650 -15.12% 32,711 38.13% 52,872 61.63% -20,161 -310
  AUGT $-0.210 -12.96% 114,272 40.64% 166,913 59.36% -52,641 -2,507
  AONE $-0.220 -14.19% 1,911,772 41.21% 2,062,580 44.47% -150,808 -6,855
  SNTA $-2.350 -32.41% 2,252,748 46.54% 2,517,205 52.00% -264,457 -1,125
  KGJI $-0.510 -27.42% 302,047 44.75% 372,854 55.25% -70,807 -1,388
  GEVO $-1.850 -27.21% 848,477 47.29% 893,760 49.81% -45,283 -245
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BIOF with a dollar loss Thursday of $-0.65000 and a Friction Factor of -310 shares. That means that it only took 310 more shares of selling than buying to move BIOF lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
