L'Echo de Victoriaville: Sun Media Corporation Launches New Weekly in Bois-Francs Region
MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - June 26, 2012) - Sun Media Corporation, a subsidiary of Quebecor Media, is pleased to announce the launch of a new free weekly in the Bois-Francs region, L'Écho de Victoriaville. More than 43,000 copies will be distributed weekly, starting tomorrow.
The launch reaffirms Quebecor Media's commitment to expanding its network of community newspapers across Québec. L'Écho de Victoriaville will provide Bois-Francs residents with another source of local news and will forge close relationships with the community and its social and economic stakeholders to become an important vehicle for all local residents.

The launch of L'Écho de Victoriaville will support the region's economic vitality by creating 43 direct and indirect jobs in Victoriaville and environs. Since 2010, Quebecor Media has launched 12 community newspapers in Québec, acquired Hebdos Montérégiens' network of 15 community newspapers, and most recently acquired two new publications, PUB Extra magazine and the newspaper L'Impact de Drummondville, creating a grand total of 632 jobs.
L'Écho de Victoriaville becomes the 76th publication in Hebdos Régionaux Québecor Média's network in Québec. With the addition of the new paper's 43,872 copies, Hebdos Régionaux Québecor Média now has a weekly circulation of more than 2.5 million copies.
Well-known local businessman Jean Crépeau, who recently joined the Hebdos Régionaux Québecor Média team, will serve as publisher of two newspapers, L'Impact de Drummondville and L'Écho de Victoriaville.
L'Écho de Victoriaville will boast a strong editorial team made up of seasoned journalists with excellent contacts in the community. Its customers will enjoy the benefit of a sales team with extensive experience in advertising sales and the unique reach of Sun Media Corporation's media network.
