Market Maker Surveillance Report. DCO, AMRS, ALXA, IMSC, ALIM, HZNP, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Monday, Jun
June 25, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3577 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1452 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4271 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. DUCOMMUN INC (NYSE:DCO), AMYRIS INC (NASDAQ:AMRS), ALEXZA PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NASDAQ:ALXA), IMPLANT SCIENCES CORP (OTC:IMSC), ALIMERA SCIENCES INC (NASDAQ:ALIM), (NASDAQ:HZNP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction DCO $0.940 11.85% 72,666 34.37% 65,095 30.79% 7,571 81 AMRS $0.680 20.67% 1,589,539 53.96% 1,350,962 45.86% 238,577 3,508 ALXA $0.650 16.37% 1,690,185 49.61% 1,686,273 49.49% 3,912 60 IMSC $0.150 15.00% 331,240 63.09% 145,930 27.80% 185,310 12,354 ALIM $0.440 15.88% 145,765 58.28% 104,351 41.72% 41,414 941 HZNP $0.950 18.03% 1,184,967 56.12% 902,732 42.75% 282,235 2,971Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows DCO with a dollar gain Monday of $0.94000 and a Friction Factor of 81 shares. That means that it only took 81 more shares of buying than selling to move DCO higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
