June 20, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3874 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2644 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2802 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. APPLIED MATERIALS, INC. (NASDAQ:AMAT), BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), EXXON MOBIL CORP (NYSE:XOM), REYNOLDS AMERICAN INC (NYSE:RAI), ARENA PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NASDAQ:ARNA), MICROSOFT CORPORATION (NASDAQ:MSFT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  AMAT $0.340 3.06% 12,709,061 55.33% 10,161,160 44.24% 2,547,901 74,938
  BAC $0.030 0.37% 62,668,744 29.53% 60,213,398 28.37% 2,455,346 818,449
  XOM $0.610 0.72% 6,114,079 26.58% 4,472,378 19.44% 1,641,701 26,913
  RAI $0.110 0.25% 2,586,268 60.15% 704,541 16.39% 1,881,727 171,066
  ARNA $0.940 9.69% 15,641,274 52.25% 14,174,065 47.35% 1,467,209 15,609
  MSFT $0.330 1.07% 18,898,584 52.86% 16,665,550 46.61% 2,233,034 67,668
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AMAT with a Net Buy Volume of 2,547,901 shares and a Friction Factor of 74,938 shares. That means that it takes 74,938 more shares of buying than selling to move AMAT higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
