Market Maker Surveillance Report. CWEI, HERO, REED, ENLAY, AFSE, BODY, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Monday, Ju
June 18, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3705 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3054 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2497 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Monday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Clayton Williams Energy Inc (NASDAQ:CWEI), HERCULES OFFSHORE INC (NASDAQ:HERO), REED'S INC (NASDAQ:REED), ENEL SPA - UNSPON ADR (OTC:ENLAY), ALL FUELS & ENERGY CO (OTC:AFSE), BODY CENTRAL CORP (NASDAQ:BODY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction CWEI $-5.200 -9.29% 60,374 48.28% 63,572 50.84% -3,198 -6 HERO $-0.320 -9.28% 2,881,665 48.36% 3,068,958 51.51% -187,293 -5,853 REED $-0.480 -13.52% 56,164 36.74% 96,708 63.26% -40,544 -845 ENLAY $-0.290 -9.39% 34,410 20.85% 62,090 37.61% -27,680 -954 AFSE $-0.320 -23.02% 103,654 29.95% 155,056 44.80% -51,402 -1,606 BODY $-7.790 -48.72% 6,702,665 46.80% 7,466,551 52.14% -763,886 -981Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows CWEI with a dollar loss Monday of $-5.20000 and a Friction Factor of -6 shares. That means that it only took 6 more shares of selling than buying to move CWEI lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
