June 11, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. On Monday there were 3478 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1645 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4218 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. United Microelectronics Corp (NYSE:UMC), ARENA PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NASDAQ:ARNA), NV ENERGY INC (NYSE:NVE), GLOBAL GAMING NETWORK INC (OTC:GBGM), VIRGIN MEDIA INC (NASDAQ:VMED), KINGOLD JEWELRY INC (NASDAQ:KGJI). Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction UMC $0.020 0.99% 1,716,272 51.69% 1,100,644 33.15% 615,628 307,814 ARNA $0.470 7.10% 12,620,163 51.02% 11,936,851 48.25% 683,312 14,539 NVE $0.020 0.12% 1,153,405 46.27% 619,119 24.84% 534,286 267,143 GBGM $0.128 41.13% 9,254,477 48.62% 8,711,968 45.77% 542,509 42,550 VMED $0.090 0.39% 1,937,757 62.15% 1,284,156 41.19% 653,601 72,622 KGJI $0.160 6.64% 1,159,888 71.34% 465,593 28.64% 694,295 43,393Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows UMC with a Net Buy Volume of 615,628 shares and a Friction Factor of 307,814 shares. That means that it takes 307,814 more shares of buying than selling to move UMC higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
