June 11, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3478 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1645 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4218 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. UNITED STATES ANTIMONY CORP (OTCBB:UAMY), STREAMLINE HEALTH SOLUTIONS (NASDAQ:STRM), HARBINGER GROUP INC (NYSE:HRG), IDENTIVE GROUP INC (NASDAQ:INVE), YIPPY INC (OTC:YIPI), NEOPHOTONICS CORP (NYSE:NPTN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  UAMY $0.520 13.23% 134,259 40.19% 90,874 27.20% 43,385 834
  STRM $0.420 14.14% 164,345 55.92% 129,573 44.08% 34,772 828
  HRG $0.600 11.67% 159,592 40.76% 141,678 36.18% 17,914 299
  INVE $0.140 14.34% 208,947 62.84% 123,581 37.16% 85,366 6,098
  YIPI $0.680 57.63% 201,457 44.03% 120,336 26.30% 81,121 1,193
  NPTN $0.480 11.24% 54,983 32.26% 44,951 26.37% 10,032 209
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows UAMY with a dollar gain Monday of $0.52000 and a Friction Factor of 834 shares. That means that it only took 834 more shares of buying than selling to move UAMY higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
