Market Maker Surveillance Report. AMRS, MBLX, JAG, BLIN, FMNL, MRTKF, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Tuesday, J
June 5, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3863 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3297 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2140 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. AMYRIS INC (NASDAQ:AMRS), Metabolix Inc (NASDAQ:MBLX), JAGUAR MINING INC (NYSE:JAG), BRIDGELINE DIGITAL INC (NASDAQ:BLIN), FORUM NATIONAL INVESTMENTS LTD N (OTC:FMNL), (OTC:MRTKF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction AMRS $0.640 27.47% 1,437,664 51.63% 1,345,448 48.32% 92,216 1,441 MBLX $0.610 31.12% 178,937 51.76% 165,874 47.98% 13,063 214 JAG $0.290 22.83% 1,794,044 36.42% 1,394,426 28.31% 399,618 13,780 BLIN $0.860 56.95% 1,184,276 54.14% 999,471 45.69% 184,805 2,149 FMNL $0.280 37.84% 57,000 35.88% 30,390 19.13% 26,610 950 MRTKF $6.295 63.50% 324,200 61.87% 199,800 38.13% 124,400 198Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows AMRS with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.64000 and a Friction Factor of 1,441 shares. That means that it only took 1,441 more shares of buying than selling to move AMRS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
