June 1, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3565 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1269 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4744 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. EL CAPITAN PRECIOUS METALS (OTC:ECPN), FREEPORT-MCMORAN COPPER (NYSE:FCX), ARRAY BIOPHARMA INC (NASDAQ:ARRY), Seven Arts Pictures PLC (NASDAQ:SAPX), AGR TOOLS INC (OTC:AGRT), HUGHES TELEMATICS INC (OTCBB:HUTC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  ECPN $0.020 9.76% 170,074 20.65% 651,398 79.10% -481,324 Abnormal
  FCX $0.090 0.28% 5,502,451 25.13% 7,326,456 33.47% -1,824,005 Abnormal
  ARRY $0.170 5.23% 494,327 30.87% 1,105,788 69.06% -611,461 Abnormal
  SAPX $0.010 15.83% 863,122 32.28% 1,810,791 67.72% -947,669 Abnormal
  AGRT $0.040 7.53% 917,042 39.22% 1,411,412 60.36% -494,370 Abnormal
  HUTC $7.430 170.80% 1,986,721 29.25% 4,804,780 70.75% -2,818,059 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ECPN with 481,324 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.02000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
