May 30, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3446 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1327 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4703 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. FUELCELL ENERGY INC (NASDAQ:FCEL), CHESAPEAKE ENERGY CORPORATION (NYSE:CHK), Jetblue Airways Corp (NASDAQ:JBLU), MEMC ELECTRONIC MATERIALS (NYSE:WFR), ADECOAGRO SA (NYSE:AGRO), FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS CORP (NYSE:FTR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  FCEL $0.100 9.01% 2,737,151 56.65% 2,094,140 43.35% 643,011 64,301
  CHK $0.060 0.37% 9,018,117 34.04% 8,095,731 30.56% 922,386 153,731
  JBLU $0.040 0.85% 3,288,242 57.68% 2,412,717 42.32% 875,525 218,881
  WFR $0.040 2.37% 3,223,847 50.96% 1,740,988 27.52% 1,482,859 370,715
  AGRO $0.310 3.30% 682,409 73.70% 84,313 9.11% 598,096 19,293
  FTR $0.070 1.99% 4,919,115 54.71% 3,991,530 44.40% 927,585 132,512
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FCEL with a Net Buy Volume of 643,011 shares and a Friction Factor of 64,301 shares. That means that it takes 64,301 more shares of buying than selling to move FCEL higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
