May 18, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3695 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1573 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4370 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. TeleCommunication Systems Inc (NASDAQ:TSYS), VELTI PLC (NASDAQ:VELT), ROSETTA GENOMICS LTD (NASDAQ:ROSG), Clearwire Corp (NASDAQ:CLWR), NEWLEAD HOLDINGS LTD (NASDAQ:NEWL), UNITED AMERICAN PETROLEUM CORPORATION (OTC:UAPC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  TSYS $0.140 10.85% 288,037 62.12% 175,608 37.88% 112,429 8,031
  VELT $0.880 14.89% 3,009,425 52.61% 2,695,860 47.12% 313,565 3,563
  ROSG $1.440 36.46% 1,023,658 56.64% 750,617 41.53% 273,041 1,896
  CLWR $0.140 13.21% 9,899,564 53.30% 8,660,745 46.63% 1,238,819 88,487
  NEWL $0.250 16.67% 48,756 54.67% 40,426 45.33% 8,330 333
  UAPC $0.100 9.52% 154,403 43.50% 97,681 27.52% 56,722 5,672
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows TSYS with a dollar gain Friday of $0.14000 and a Friction Factor of 8,031 shares. That means that it only took 8,031 more shares of buying than selling to move TSYS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
