May 17, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3350 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1306 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4970 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. KONGZHONG CORP-ADR (NASDAQ:KONG), LUMINA COPPER CORP (OTC:LCPRF), UNITED AMERICAN PETROLEUM CORPORATION (OTC:UAPC), GREAT PANTHER SILVER LTD (AMEX:GPL), (AMEX:XG), (NASDAQ:FFN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  KONG $0.790 13.34% 412,770 60.94% 245,420 36.23% 167,350 2,118
  LCPRF $1.093 13.39% 69,000 54.33% 45,200 35.59% 23,800 218
  UAPC $0.246 30.60% 153,591 50.31% 63,554 20.82% 90,037 3,660
  GPL $0.200 12.99% 415,507 33.50% 399,898 32.24% 15,609 780
  XG $0.340 15.18% 128,752 30.29% 125,747 29.58% 3,005 88
  FFN $0.520 45.22% 3,095,079 59.07% 2,144,661 40.93% 950,418 18,277
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows KONG with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.79000 and a Friction Factor of 2,118 shares. That means that it only took 2,118 more shares of buying than selling to move KONG higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
