May 9, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3802 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1891 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3898 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. China Automotive Systems Inc (NASDAQ:CAAS), MEMSIC INC (NASDAQ:MEMS), AMEDISYS INC (NASDAQ:AMED), CONSOLIDATED GRAPHICS, INC. (NYSE:CGX), NEWLEAD HOLDINGS LTD (NASDAQ:NEWL), DOMARK INTERNATIONAL INC (OTCBB:DOMK). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CAAS $-1.090 -20.26% 145,962 42.69% 195,588 57.20% -49,626 -455
  MEMS $-1.560 -40.94% 412,489 36.51% 701,658 62.11% -289,169 -1,854
  AMED $-2.950 -21.98% 1,351,444 49.34% 1,380,099 50.39% -28,655 -97
  CGX $-5.410 -15.27% 126,865 31.81% 144,947 36.35% -18,082 -33
  NEWL $-0.330 -15.79% 45,665 37.19% 74,839 60.94% -29,174 -884
  DOMK $-1.490 -34.89% 841,384 23.43% 919,343 25.61% -77,959 -523
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CAAS with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-1.09000 and a Friction Factor of -455 shares. That means that it only took 455 more shares of selling than buying to move CAAS lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
