April 27, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3782 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3566 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2150 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Las Vegas Sands Corp (NYSE:LVS), Ford Motor Co (NYSE:F), XEROX CORP (NYSE:XRX), ALCATEL-LUCENT-SPONSORED ADR (NYSE:ALU), WEBSAFETY INC (OTC:WBSI), PEOPLESTRING CORP (OTC:PLPE). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  LVS $-1.220 -2.14% 3,207,284 25.34% 5,436,477 42.96% -2,229,193 -18,272
  F $-0.180 -1.49% 24,159,387 31.92% 26,015,369 34.38% -1,855,982 -103,110
  XRX $-0.080 -1.01% 6,736,563 30.09% 9,165,078 40.93% -2,428,515 -303,564
  ALU $-0.040 -2.50% 11,979,341 28.43% 16,895,736 40.10% -4,916,395 -1,229,099
  WBSI $-0.012 -25.53% 1,858,067 31.42% 3,923,940 66.35% -2,065,873 -1,721,561
  PLPE $-0.040 -27.05% 1,720,738 31.75% 3,699,080 68.24% -1,978,342 -500,846
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows LVS down $-1.22000 with a Friction Factor of -18,272 and a Net Volume of -2,229,193. That means that it takes 18,272 more shares of selling than buying to drop LVS by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
