Market Maker Surveillance Report. PNBC, KERX, CLVS, PRXI, NENE, GDVXF, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Tuesday, A
April 3, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3822 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2169 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3684 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. PRINCETON NATIONAL BANCORP (NASDAQ:PNBC), KERYX BIOPHARMACEUTICALS (NASDAQ:KERX), CLASSIC VENTURES INC (NASDAQ:CLVS), PREMIER EXHIBITIONS INC (NASDAQ:PRXI), NEW ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES INC (OTC:NENE), (OTC:GDVXF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction PNBC $-0.300 -13.82% 92,654 48.56% 96,767 50.72% -4,113 -137 KERX $-0.210 -12.07% 4,972,009 41.31% 7,063,009 58.68% -2,091,000 -99,571 CLVS $-3.100 -12.86% 72,724 43.81% 90,164 54.32% -17,440 -56 PRXI $-0.630 -18.10% 372,510 40.97% 556,306 61.18% -183,796 -2,917 NENE $-1.030 -24.94% 94,046 13.43% 164,302 23.47% -70,256 -682 GDVXF $-0.321 -14.52% 55,900 32.22% 64,550 37.20% -8,650 -270Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows PNBC with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-0.30000 and a Friction Factor of -137 shares. That means that it only took 137 more shares of selling than buying to move PNBC lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
